123RELAX Testimonials
Guests aboard 123Relax in early January, 2012...
Estimada Delphine:
(i) el capitán llevó su barco hasta una bahía a solo 150 metros del aeropuerto y personalmente nos pasó a retirar a la salida de migraciones;
(ii) el barco se encuentra en exelentes condiciones de mantenmiento, muchas mejores condiciones que las fotos de internet, es confortable y se encontró siempre impecable;
(iii) Flavio es un apitán excepcional que mezcló generosidad para ponerme al timon de su barco durante largos trayectos (siempre atento a todo), docencia para enseñarme a seguir un rumbo sin desviarme 5º para terminar en la isla equivocada, nos llevó en esos días a recorrer Virgin Gorda, Anegada, Norman, Sandy Spit, Jost Van Dyke, etc. y tacto, para lograr que mi esposa se sientiera cómoda y segura, dado que era la primera vez que hacía una navegación de varios días;
Eduardo Fenochietto.

We hope your charter lived up to your expectations. We would love to know some of your impressions about your yachting vacation. Please answer the following questions and add any comments you may have.
1. Was the crew friendly and accommodating?
Yes! We were treated like royalty throughout. Our wants and needs always came first. They went over and above anything we expected. The little touches, like bringing towels when we'd jump into the sea for a quick dip in the morning did not go unnoticed.
2. Was the yacht comfortable and clean?
Absolutely! Neila and Flavio worked hard to keep it clean throughout the day and they did a fabulous job.
3. Was the yacht well ventilated?
Below deck was often warm and a bit muggy especially when we needed to close hatches for the rain . But it was not unbearable and the fans in every room helped. I'd rather too warm than air conditioned.
4. Was the food good and well presented?
It was exceptionally good and far exceeded anything that we expected. Lunches were an elaborate affair and always anticipated eagerly. I loved swimming back to the boat near lunch time when we were down wind. We celebrated two birthdays on board and both days Neila and Flavio made birthday cakes.
5. Did you like the area you sailed?
Yes, the Grenadines offered a good mix of snorkeling and islands to explore.
7. May we post this review on our website?
Yes
8. Additional comments on your charter?

CREWED YACHT EVALUATION
Yacht 123 RELAX Guests: Lori & Leif

How did you enjoy your cruising vacation?
It was spectacular! We had such a wonderful time, we can’t wait to go back.
How would you describe your Captain and crew? Were they Courteous? Helpful? Friendly? Attentive? Knowledgeable? They were all of the above. Flavio and Neila were wonderful. They took such good care of us, always making sure that we were doing what we’d wanted to do: snorkeling, sight-seeing, shopping, visiting famous island bars, etc. Most importantly of all, Flavio was so generous with his time and boat—allowing Leif to sail as much as he wanted and teaching him the ins and outs of sailing a 51’ boat in the BVI. Leif LOVED it! He learned a lot but more importantly, he had a lot of fun. We were really impressed by the organization shown—getting us underway to a location, going below deck to start lunch, baking some amazing dessert for dinner, getting us to the location in time to get a good mooring. Flavio was so knowledgeable about the islands—he made sure we got to various places in time for the best light, explaining that we needed to be somewhere before noon, or just after lunch, or late to get the best spots, see the brightest fish and coral, etc. And, since I’m not in great physical condition, Flavio was really wonderful about making sure we could swim to places or taking us in the dinghy and making sure we could swim back since getting INTO the dinghy from the water was not happening!
Tell me about your meals? Did the menus meet your expectations? Did your crew pay close attention to your Preference Sheets? The meals were fabulous and definitely planned with our tastes and preferences considered. We’ve told everyone how incredible Flavio was as a cook—an amazing pasta dish with porcini mushrooms, a plantain mousse, grilled steak, stuffed mushroom caps—even an amazing ham and cheese sandwich, which really doesn’t do it justice at all! We had homemade cheesecake and apple pie and chocolate “volcano” cake. One thing we were really touched by was on Leif’s birthday, they made a birthday cake with candles that was delicious. And, by sharing the meal with us and toasting his birthday with wine and good conversation, they really made the birthday special, which was priceless. The meals became such an event that we began to take pictures of each meal when it was brought up to the cockpit table because they were so spectacular!
How is the yacht? Is she clean and well-maintained? Were your cabins comfortable? Was the cockpit comfortable? Was there enough shade? The yacht was very clean, very well-maintained, truly a beautiful boat. The cockpit was where we spent all our waking hours and was wonderful. There was in fact plenty of shade, although we were very careful with the sunscreen! The cabins were comfortable, albeit a bit tight. That is not a complaint—the rooms were very nice—we just didn’t understand how really small the space below deck is—and it was a big boat! Still, we weren’t in the cabin except to sleep so it was irrelevant! Of course, I don’t know how we go back to our 19’ power sailor after being on this beautiful boat.
What did you like most about the yacht? What did you like the least? I guess what we liked most was the comfort of the yacht and the pampering we received. Oh, and Flavio’s Mojitos—those were terrific! The least? Probably the rocking the first few nights, which was more about Tropical Storm "Tomas" off to the north than the boat itself. It made it a little hard to sleep. Once that moved out we did much better.
How did you find the pace and the itinerary of your vacation? It was probably perfect for me—I wanted to relax, swim, read, etc. Leif wanted to sail and probably would have liked to do more things. But, for the two of us, we each got to do most of what we wanted so it worked really well. We were very appreciative of the time and thought Flavio and Neila put in to making sure we were able to do what we wanted. They were really good about planning which island we would go to first, second, etc., based upon what we were trying to do. They took us to the Baths on the day before we left but the red flags were up. So, instead they took us to a deserted beach they knew of and took us there with chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler of drinks and let us experience being “alone” on a deserted island. We loved it! Then, the next day, which was also our last day, they took us back to the Baths where we were able to explore and swim and snorkel one last time. It was really considerate and again, we were very appreciative.
Would you charter this yacht again? If not, please explain: Probably. The only reason I say that is I would like to try a catamaran. The rolling of the boat bothered me more than I thought it would, especially when it came to sleep. But, I feel that we would miss Flavio and Neila because they did such an amazing job of catering to our needs.

How did you enjoy your cruising vacation?
We loved it! Katie (12) Raquel (18), Victoria, and I all had a simply fantastic time. I was concerned before the trip that my daughters would find it boring, but they did not. Everybody said the time flew by and nobody wanted to go home.
How would you describe your Captain and crew? They were excellent! Were they Courteous? Helpful? Friendly? Attentive? Knowledgeable? Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes!!
Flavio and Neila were amazingly attentive not only to what Victoria and I wanted, but to the kids as well. They are very warm and caring people, but at the same time very professional.
Example 1: Flavio overheard Katie ask me if we would be doing any fishing. Later, Flavio presented Katie with a fishing rod during an extended sail, and helped her catch several fish.
Example 2: Katie unfortunately received a bad sunburn during the trip. Flavio and Naila stayed up with Victoria to help her treat the burn. We had not brought children’s Tylenol on the trip, and Katie has trouble swallowing pills. While Victoria and I discussed what to give her, Flavio and Neila opened individual gelcaps and poured them into a spoon for Katie to swallow. While Flavio gave her the medicine, Neila stood behind him and immediately followed it up with a juicebox so that Katie would not complain about the taste.
Example 3: When we went snorkeling from the dinghy, Flavio prepared a rope ladder to help Victoria and I get back in (back to the gym for me!).
Example 4: When the girls wanted to read or nap instead of going snorkeling at the Indians with me, Flavio offered to go snorkeling with me.
Flavio is very knowledgeable about the BVIs and is a very experienced sailor. He knew some great snorkeling spots I had not read about in any book or website.
Tell me about your meals? Did the menus meet your expectations? Did your crew pay close attention to your Preference Sheets?
Flavio’s cooking was superb, and definitely exceeded my expectations. Every meal was delicious. The meals were diverse and what you would expect to find at a great restaurant.
Breakfast included fresh hot biscuits, eggs and sausage, and espresso coffee that Flavio would grind fresh every morning.
It was very apparent that Flavio had paid close attention to our Preference Sheets. We all love, and stated a preference for, seafood -- we had shrimp, mussels, salmon, tuna, even paella – all wonderful. One night we had pork in a gorgonzola sauce that was simply amazing. Another night we had sausages and marinated steaks on the grill.
How is the yacht? Is she clean and well-maintained? Were your cabins comfortable? Was the cockpit comfortable? Was there enough shade? Was everything in working order?
The yacht is immaculate. Neila did an amazing job of keeping it that way throughout the trip. After breakfast or a sail, we would come down to find our cabins cleaned and our bunks made. All of the systems on the yacht worked perfectly, and many were obviously brand new. The cockpit was very comfortable for 4, and we ate all but one meal at the table in the cockpit. The bimini was always up, so there was always plenty of shade. Flavio was very quick to raise the dodger whenever he thought it might provide additional protection, although we usually asked him to leave it down.
What did you like most about the yacht? What did you like the least?
From my standpoint, what I loved best about the yacht was the way she sailed. She pointed into the wind wonderfully, and heeled without any sense of danger, loss of control, or discomfort. The kids loved the sailing experience and that there were plenty of outlets to keep their ipods, cameras and phones charged.
There were a few warm nights when larger cabin fans would have been nice, but to me that is just part of the Caribbean sailing experience. (Flavio told me he is in the process of ordering and installing bigger fans).
How did you find the pace and the itinerary of your vacation?
The pace and itinerary were perfect. Flavio did a terrific job in getting us to see what we wanted to see without us feeling rushed or pressed. Victoria and I had sailed the BVIs before, so there were certain things we wanted to see again. At Jost Van Dyke, Flavio asked me whether we would prefer to go swimming at White Bay, shopping at Foxy’s, or visit the bubbly pool at Little Jost Van Dyke. I told him we would like to do all 3. Flavio made that happen and somehow managed to serve us a wonderful lunch and dinner along the way! I still don’t know how he did it.
Flavio knew my primary interest was in sailing, and always took into account what would be the best sailing experience while keeping us on our itinerary. Our sail from Jost Van Dyke to Virgin Gorda took a course half way to Anegada which was simply some of the best sailing I have ever done.
We had one rainy day (really only a half-day). Flavio discussed our options with me and we decided to eliminate one snorkeling trip from the itinerary due to low visibility. The kids spent the morning watching movies on the yacht’s flat screen TV
