Crew Profile

Captain Douglas Meier– Former U.S. Coast Guard

Doug’s love affair with the sea started at age fifteen when he joined the Naval Sea cadet corp. and attended Navy boot camp. This led him to later enroll in the U.S. Coast Guard. Based out of Miami he became involved with law enforcement and SAR operations. After serving the country for five years, Doug moved in the private yacht sector. For the next two decades, Doug commanded various power and sailing charter yachts through out the Caribbean, Bahamas, Gulf of Mexico, and domestic waters from Key West to New England. Doug was honored by winning five Antigua Charter Yacht show awards and four Boat International/US classic yacht awards.

Chef Erin Price

Erin is a formally trained Culinary Chef with comprehensive experience delivering exceptional and unique dishes featuring premier quality gourmet food and creative menus. Originally from Texas Erin has enjoyed a successful yacht chef career over the past 10 years and has worked with Captain Doug for the past 3 years.

First Mate Maxwell Anderson

Originally from South Bend, Indiana, Max has always been drawn to the sea. Max has been in the yachting industry since his graduation from Indiana University in 2010. In his spare time, Max enjoys exploring new cities and the natural world. He enjoys camping, snowboarding, scuba diving, reading and traveling. He is deeply committed to ensuring guests have a wonderful and unforgettable experience on Renaissance.

Stewardess Mika Kowaluk

Comes from an extensive hospitality background including, waitressing, concierge and special events coordinator. Originally, from Poland, Mika has worked in the yachting industry since 2008 with travels including the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mediterranean and extensively in East Coast US. Mika enjoys photography, wakeboarding, diving, culinary arts, languages and learning about different cultures.

2nd Deckhand Hunter Hood

Born in Charleston, South Carolina, and raised in a small town in south Texas, Hunter grew up in a military household with a strict attention to detail and immaculate discipline. Spending the past 4 years in the United Kingdom, he taught Rowing to young kids and raced at a national level. Taking the same passion and level of competition he has gained as an athlete, he has transferred that to his work as a Deckhand, and his passion for yachting. He hopes to progress to his Yachtmaster Certification within the next few years and would like to be a yacht captain farther on down the road.

My love of the ocean made working onboard Renaissance a logical choice. As a native of the Bahamas I enjoy meeting new people, particularly small children, and visiting new harbors and bays. I am mainly in charge of the water sports and you will often find me keeping an eye on the guests while they are swimming, jet skiing, or jumping off the boat. In my off time I enjoy swimming, fishing, and just hanging around the beach.
