RHEA was built by Nyborg and delivered to her owner in 1900, she later underwent a refit in 2015.

RHEA can accommodate 8 guests in 4 cabins consisting of 2 cabins with a double bed and en-suite bathroom facilities, a primary suite with a double bed and en-suite bathroom facilities located aft and a cabin with a twin bed and en-suite bathroom facilities.

David, a sailor most of his life, qualified at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, and later attended a commercial flying course. He was mixed farming in England and Scotland until 1981 and then skippering charter boats in the Mediterranean and Red Sea. He has skied for many years for the Ski Club of Great Britain, specialising in off-piste, for many years in St. Anton. David bought and recommissioned “RHEA” in 1989/90 and has chartered her successfully since then.

Penny was a dinghy sailor as a girl and graduated from Birmingham University with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biological Sciences. She spent 2 years in accountancy and then became a freelance farm secretary. Penny was farming with David and then chartering with him as chef/partner for 5years. She also ran a ski chalet for two seasons. She was fully involved in recommissioning and maintaining “RHEA”. Since 1997 Penny has been the chef aboard “RHEA”.
