ROI SOLEIL Crew Profile
CREW PROFILE – Roi Soleil – 2006
Finnegan CAMPFENS – Captain
Finn trained as a Dutch merchant navy officer and his love for the South of France and its canals led him to making a family there and joining “Roi Soleil” from the inaugural season in 2000.
Finn speaks four languages and his constant “bonne humeur” and his multi-skills have made him indispensable and much loved by both crew and guests
Louisa GRONOW – Guide
Louisa comes from a French/English family and has not even a trace of an accent in either language. Her knowledge of French history has impressed some of the most scholarly guests on board. With her Tourism Certification she became an official guide for the City of Carcassonne and later the Canal du Midi before she joined “Roi Soleil” in 2001. Since 2004, Louisa has been alternating AS GUIDE FOR “Roi Soleil” with Guillaume de PERTHUIS. Louise has a warm, vivacious, often humorous personality and she is a very much appreciated mainstay on board.
Dean SINCOCK – Chef
Dean has a charming personality and has impeccable international culinary skills. He joined “Roi Soleil” for the 2006 season after being highly recommended by “Frontiers International Travel”. Please see http://lakerotoroalodge.com/staff.html
The guests on board have been overjoyed by his consistently delicious presentations.
Karen WHITEHOUSE – Hostess
Karen has a naturally warm, caring touch toward her guests whom she welcomes on board as if they are coming into her home. She is meticulous with the boat and all enjoy her spontaneous humour and discretion. Karen has a long-standing love affair with the Canal du Midi where she has been living on board a yacht with her husband for many years. Karen has been with “Roi Soleil” since 2005.
