In the past fourteen years he has traveled extensively through the Bahamas, the Caribbean including Cuba, the Eastern & Western Mediterranean Seas, the North Sea, and the east coast of the USA from the Florida Cays to Maine. Before joining Scott Free, Captain Jonathan supervised the build of the 49m (161 feet) Anjilis at Trinity Yachts which he then Captained for 3 successful charter seasons. As a charter Captain, Jonathan has initiated successful programs on the Feadship Her Honor which he ran for 2 years, and Beeliever which he ran for 3 years. A native of Rhode Island, Sherry began her yachting career in 1983 working as chef, stewardess, mate, and yes, captain on charter yachts in the Caribbean, New England, Florida, and the Mediterranean. Up until 1999 these were mostly sailing yachts and since then she has been exclusively on motor yachts, both private and charter. Chef Sherry studied at several prestigious culinary schools including the Culinary Institute of America in New York, Greystone in Napa Valley California, Roger Verge Cuisine of South France, the Bonne Bouche School of Cookery in Devon England, and Le Cordon Bleu in London. Sherry has been the Chef on Scott Free for over five years. Her knowledge and experience of local cuisines, ingredients and produce are evident in the creative, worldly and health conscious menus she creates. She is passionate about all aspects of her craft, from provisioning and preparation to presentation. On the rare occasions that she is not cooking Sherry can be found taking long bicycle rides through wine country, skiing in Aspen or practicing yoga anywhere.
Bruce was raised by the ocean in Australia and wasted no time in setting out to explore the marine environment. Using funds saved from a weekly paper route, he bought his first boat at the tender age of 12. When Bruce was just 17 he worked on a commercial shrimp boat off of the coast of Queensland and never looked back on a career at sea. He has worked on high-speed transfer ferries, supply vessels, tugboats, and large passenger sailing yachts. Bruce’s yachting career began in the winter of 2000 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. For the last ten years he has worked on several large charter yachts including, Sacajawea, One More Toy, Zoom Zoom Zoom and Dream Seeker. He has been the First Mate onboard Scott Free for 2 and a half years. Prior to yachting Bruce was a water sports guru at the world renowned Hayman Island Resort in Australia. In his spare time Bruce loves to fish, work out and play tennis.
