Ben Humphrey

Captain

Originally born in England, his love for the Ocean was soon discovered after his father spent 2 years building a 30 ft boat in the backyard! Memories from early childhood consist of catching crabs and jellyfish at the dock, numerous crossings of the English Channel to France, and the eel that somehow found its way down his life jacket! Teenage years were spent growing up within the fresh water Great Lakes in Canada. Everything revolved around the water; not only for entertainment but the boat was also transportation before being of age to drive a car!

Ben is not only your Yacht Captain, but also a PADI Instructor, Technical diver, and a Dive Industry Technician. Having spent 3 years in Asia, he has been a Dive Instructor and Trip leader working in Komodo, Bali, Similan Islands, and Sharm el Sheikh. As he loves to be underwater, there are no extra charges to dive on board the Sea Anemone unless you wish to acquire a PADI certification. The Discover Scuba program is also free. If you are already an advance diver and up for some excitement, he is a Sidemount Instructor and has two sets of Sidemount gear on board. As a dive Industry technician and dive compressor mechanic, Ben maintains all the equipment on board, including the full size 400 volt Bauer Mariner dive compressor. His dive compressor room is absolutely spotless!

Born in the Ukraine, Elizabeth grew up in a beautiful area on the Crimean Peninsula surrounded by the Black Sea. After graduating from University with an English degree, she got a job in the hotel industry in Thailand. She loves working with people, learning new cultures/cuisine, and new languages. With a passion for cooking, she loves to take the freshest ingredients and bring you chef inspired cuisine from around the world.

During her stay in Thailand she met her future husband Ben who introduced her to the boating life. Elizabeth quickly fell in love with the Ocean and underwater world. She progressed quickly on her training and currently holds a Rescue Diver Certification, First Aid, and STCW Sea Safety/Security.

Being too far from home in Asia, they both wished to pursue a career closer to home. With their qualifications and interests, running a charter boat was the obvious choice! Ben and Elizabeth purchased the Sea Anemone in Europe and sailed from Portugal to Morocco, Canary Islands, Cabo Verde and across to the Dominican Republic. Upon their arrival they enjoyed a beach wedding in Punta Cana and took a honeymoon sail to Antigua. After cruising muchof the Caribbean it was quite clear where they wished to stay and charter. “We fell in love with the British Virgin Islands instantly.” The beauty of the Islands are astounding… a diverse area that boasts beauty above and below the water.
