Sample Itinerary for Cruising The Abacos

 Day 1

Start your Abaco Adventure Vacation arriving via Marsh Harbour International Airport. You will be greeted by your crew with Captain Mike’s secret recipe “Badgerita”. Enjoy the Afternoon by taking a ride in the tender for a swim and snorkel close to Marsh Harbour. For the first evening on board you will enjoy local fresh catch of Mahi, Wahoo or lobster and maybe some fresh Stone Crab, some cocktails and a homemade dessert.

Day 2

As the sun rises you will be underway to Green Turtle Cay for a 3-4 hour cruise across the crystal clear waters of The Sea of Abaco. Once in Green Turtle the Captain will take you and group on a tender ride to visit No Name Cay and feed the swimming Pigs. Lunch and cocktails will be provided on the Cay and from there we will go on a snorkel and swimming trip around Green Turtle. Dinner choices include a fresh cooked meal on the boat or you can go ashore for dinner at one of the great restaurants on the Cay.

 Day 3

The day will start with a cruise down to Great Guana Cay where you will have an opportunity to go ashore and enjoy one of the fun spots such as the famous Nippers or Grabbers. A swim on the beach and some lunch on land will make for a great day at Guana. The evening will be spent at anchor with dinner aboard and the stars above.

 Day 4

After a fresh breakfast on board we will island hop, snorkel and/or engage in offshore fishing aboard the tender. The day will end with a 3 hour cruise to Hopetown on Elbow Cay where you will be at dock at The Hopetown Inn and Marina. Dinner on island at any one of the wonderful restaurants will be a great way to end a busy day.

 Day 5

Your day will begin with a fresh breakfast on board then we’ll head out for a day of island hopping, exploring and snorkeling. Arriving at the world famous Pete’s Pub for lunch and a swim in the beautiful waters in the cove. After an afternoon of hanging with Pete we will make the hour long ride on the Tender back to Hopetown for dinner aboard.

 Day 6

After having spent the past five days exploring and learning what Abaco has to offer this will be a spontaneous day to do “whatever”. We can go ashore on the mainland and explore the Blue Holes, maybe do some bonefishing or head off shore for some more deep sea fun.

Day 7

On you last day of what has been a wonderful week of exploring, great meals and great fun we will go on the anchor off of Elbow Cay. Dinner will be served on the beach as your crew prepares a wonderful grilled meal and watch the sun set on the Sea of Abaco.

Crew Profile

Captain: Michael Dillon

CAPTAIN MICHAEL DILLON

Captain Michael Dillon did not develop a passion for boats, he was born with it in his blood. Michael grew up in the marine industry and has been working on boats as far back as he can remember. His father and grandfather worked with boats and were renowned in their field. As a child, Michael was always in or on the water, boating, fishing and diving. Relocating from New York, his father leased space in a boatyard in Stuart, Florida. With Michael as his young assistant, he developed a reputation for exquisite refinishing work that spread all the way to owners located far north on the eastern seaboard.

Michael took a hiatus from the marine industry, first as an enlisted man in the armed forces and subsequently in restaurant construction. However, when an opportunity to work in the yachting industry presented itself he did not look back. As Captain of a sport fishing yacht in the Bahamas he honed his fishing skills and loves to share his knowledge. After running boats in the Bahamas for years he now owns a home in this paradise.

There is no better guide than a local. Knowing these islands so well, Michael is uniquely qualified to customize a charter perfectly suited to individual preferences. Whether your passion is conch fishing or lobster fishing, snorkeling or diving, or you are an avid bird watcher, beachcomber or history buff, you’ll be amazed at how much there is to see and do in the Abacos with Michael at the helm.
