SEAS THE MOMENT Crew Profile
Captain - Andrew Barton
A native to Savannah, Georgia, and a graduate of Georgia Southern University, Andy started his captain career in Antigua. There he ran the St. James’s Club marina and led its extensive deep-sea fishing program. With 11 years of captain experience, Andy has worked aboard yachts of all sizes, ranging from 65 to 124 feet. He has cruised in the Caribbean, Bahamas, Florida, New England and the Great Lakes. He currently holds a USCG 200 Ton Master license and an MCA-approved engineer’s ticket.
Seas The Moment’s resident fishing expert, Andy has years of big game sport fishing experience, something he enjoys imparting to interested charter guests whenever possible. He has chased blue marlin from the Bahamas to Venezuela and everywhere in between, as well as fished the ESPN Billfish Xtreme Relief League tournament.
Besides fishing, Andy also enjoys watching college football, scuba diving, golf, sports and other outdoor activities. With his easy-going, friendly personality and love of meeting new people, he has a real knack for making charter guests from all over feel welcome.
Mate - Elizabeth Andrews
Hailing from the coast of North Carolina, Elizabeth is Seas The Moment’s resident watersports aficionado. A PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, sailor and surfer, Elizabeth enjoys all things water-related. She gave up her desk job in 2010 for a job on the ocean and now holds two captain licenses, the RYA/MCA Yachtmaster 200 Tons ticket and the USCG Master 100 Tons ticket.
Before joining Seas The Moment, Elizabeth worked as a scuba and sailing instructor in the British Virgin Islands for ActionQuest, an expedition-based adventure program, where she taught teenagers how to wakeboard, windsurf, dive and sail.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Elizabeth has a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication, Public Relations, and a minor in Violin Performance. When she’s not diving or playing violin, you’ll catch her running or practicing yoga. Regardless of what Elizabeth is doing, you will always find her doing it with a smile.
Chef – Freelance thru mid-January 2013
Stewardess – Amanda Mastorides
Amanda is the newest member of the Seas The Moment family. Originally from Long Island, NY, she moved down to Florida in 2005 to get away from the cold. She attended Florida Atlantic University, from where she graduated with a degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. Amanda brings with her years of hospitality experience as well as silver service, floral design and care certifications.
Prior to joining Seas The Moment, Amanda worked as a physical therapy technician, training patients of all ages and backgrounds, from young athletes to older post-operational clients. With her focus on overall health and her outgoing, warm personality, Amanda has made a great addition to the program onboard.
Apart from her excellent work ethic and can-do attitude, Amanda also enjoys a variety of water sports and is always willing to try new things. When she isn’t working on Seas The Moment or playing in the sun, you’ll find her avidly watching and cheering on her home football team, the New York Jets.
