SILVER MOON Crew Profile
Durk Offringa has worked in the yachting industry as captain for 25 years. From his early beginnings of sailing on Tampa Bay when in college, to soon thereafter starting and running a diving/sailing charter operation in Jamaica, he began his keen sense of service mixed with adventure style! From then on Durk has captained 112’ to 156’ motor /expedition yachts; completing four American new constructions projects along the way. The majority of this time was spent employed by only three owners and travelling the Caribbean while refining his ability to adapt to any guest and turn their dreams into reality. Be assured that his vast experience and attention to detail will make you wish your trip had been longer aboard Silver Moon.
First Mate / Engineer Nick Felstead
Nick’s family is originally from England but he has grown up in Florida and has traveled the world on board yachts. Nick has worked on board a 112 Westport True North for many years before joining Silver moon and has travelled through the Bahamas , the Mediterranean and onto the Red Sea. Nick also spent a year travelling around the world before returning to yachts, getting his dive master certification and spending many months in Thailand and Fiji. He is also a sailor as well as a diver and has a charming, friendly personality and fun attitude that guests find catching. Weather Nick is taking you out fishing on the tender, snorkeling on the closest reef, racing on the wave runners or serving up a Pina Colada on the fly bridge, his smile, team attitude and welcoming personality make him a pleasure for guests to be around.
