Captain – Phil Stevens
British - Phil is MCA Class IV qualified. Before joining SLIPSTREAM, Phil was captain onboard the highly successful charter yacht SILVER DREAM (ex SLIPSTREAM) from 2001 to 2008. Prior to this, Phil spent 7 years cruising extensively in the East and West Mediterranean, South East Asia, the North and South Pacific and the Caribbean. Phil loves watching motor racing and enjoys most sports. He is also a keen traveller and diver. Phil speaks some French.
First Mate – Douglas Love
British - After completing a four year apprenticeship in electrical engineering Douglas at the age of 20 ventured abroad to discover what Europe had to offer. He was introduced onto the world of yachting which he enjoyed for 3 years around the Mediterranean. An irresistible offer took him to the Canary Islands, Spain, to join a large chain of sports bars as a manager. Seven years later Douglas made the decision to go back to yachting as of his love of the ocean. Prior to joining SLIPSTREAM, Douglas worked onboard the popular charter yacht, SILVER DREAM (ex SLIPSTREAM). He is enthusiastic and determined to be a success in his chosen career. Douglas’ spare time is spent playing golf.
Second Mate – Andy Shilton
British. Andy gained a degree in Business Management from Nottingham Trent University. Having been involved in the Hospitality Industry from a young age, with a family business in hotels and restaurants, Andy fits easily in to superyacht industry. He joined 50m M/Y LARISSA in April 2004 and spent four years on board as Bosun, travelling the Mediterranean on a family cruise. Andy is an enthusiastic member of the crew and a great team player. He has a love for food and rink and enjoys keeping fit. Andy is a PADI Advanced Diver and can speak conversational French.
Chief Engineer – Tim O’Connell
Irish. Tim was born and grew up in Cork, Ireland. Since studying Marine Engineering at University, he has travelled the world on several cruise liners which have included M.S. STATENDAM and ROTTERDAM and most recently M.S EMERALD PRINCESS of Princess Cruises. SLIPSTREAM is Tim’s first superyacht and his dedication to the role and experience in cruising make him a great asset to the crew. In his spare time, Tim enjoys music and keeping fit. Tim can speak some French.
Engineer – Duncan Mclean
Scottish – Duncan has 10 years experience in the maritime industry of which the first 3 years were spent as a marine engineer cadet for a cargo ship company.
He has been in the yachting industry since 2002 and has worked onboard a number of yachts including INDIAN EMPRESS and SILVER DREAM (ex SLIPSTREAM). Duncan’s hobbies include Golf, Guitar /Banjo and Mountain biking.
Chef – Geoff Fisher
English/Maltese – Geoff is a highly experience chef having worked in Michelin * Restaurants such as “Foliage” and “Le Gavroche” prior to joining the yachting industry. In 2006, Geoff won the Antigua Yacht Show Chef competition. Prior to joining SLIPSTREAM, Geoff worked onboard the busy charter yacht, SILVER DREAM (ex SILVER DREAM). His hobbies are fashion and reading.
Sous Chef – Dylan Reece
British. Dylan gained a degree in Business Information Management. Following this he spent a year as a Deckhand before travelling to Perth, Australia and taking on various jobs including cooking for guests for 2 months on a desert island in Shark Bay. He has also completed a winter ski season in Val D’Isere as a Chalet Host, organising food and drink for the guests. Dylan has served on board both 48m M/Y ZAZA and 78m M/Y PRINCESS MARIANA and most recently 43m M/Y SILVER DREAM where he cooked for the crew and helped out on deck. Dylan has a great sense of humour and has been very passionate about cooking from a young age. In his free time he enjoys listening to music, snowboarding and of course cooking. Dylan is a PADI Advanced Diver and speaks some French.
Chief Stewardess – Claire Forman
English – Claire has 15 years experience in the service industry in the UK and New Zealand. She has been in the yachting industry since 2004 during which she has cruised the East and West Med extensively. Prior to joining SLIPSTREAM, Claire worked onboard the busy charter yacht, SILVER DREAM (ex SLIPSTREAM). In her spare time she enjoys scuba diving, snowboarding, the arts and reading. Claire heads up a tight interior team and she ensures that guests onboard have all they require.
Stewardess - Danielle Filer
New Zealander – Danielle grew up at the sea side in Christchurch, New Zealand. She studied Hotel Management and has worked in various hospitality trades. Danielle completed a diploma in Massage and Aromatherapy and used this skill in resorts on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. Feeling the travel itch, she started work for Steiner on Cruise ships in their spas which gave her the opportunity to see some of the world. These include: DISNEY MAGIC, GRAND PRINCESS, PACIFIC PRINCESS AND THE EMERALD PRINCESS. Living by the water, meant she learnt to swim at a young age and therefore spent quite a bit of time at the beach. Danielle completed a basic sailing course when she was 18 with the aim of helping out on the family yacht when she was at home! Danielle is a fully qualified Massage/Aromatherapist and enjoys reading, swimming, water sports, love travelling and meeting new people!
Stewardess – Gosia Miejluk
Polish – Gosia has been in the service industry for 8 years, working in restaurants in Knightsbridge, London. Gosia has silver service experience and a good knowledge of wines. Prior to joining SLIPSTREAM, Gosia was part of the interior team onboard the busy charter yacht, SILVER DREAM (ex SLIPSTREAM). When not looking after guests onboard, her hobbies include fashion and reading.
Stewardess – Celine Blanchardon
Deckhand – Dane Kennedy
Australian SLIPSTREAM is Dane’s first yacht and prior to this he worked in the hospitality industry on the Gold Coast in Australia. He was also at the time a professional kayaker, competing at international level around the world. His hobbies include surf life saving, diving and basically all water associated sports.
Deckhand – Harry Jones
English - Harry left Seaford College in 2007 and commenced a gap year. During that year he spent time in Argentina playing rugby and travelling whilst on tour. On Harry’s return to the UK he worked at Harrods as part of the sales team for Ralph Lauren before joining M/Y SILVER DREAM (ex SLIPSTREAM) in January 2008, cruising in the Maldives and the Mediterranean. Harry’s family have always had boats and he grew up spending most holidays and weekends on the water and so he is pretty adept to all watersports! His other hobbies include football, rugby, cricket, horse riding and listening to music.
