Southern Cross Timer - our traditional Bodrum sailing gulet with four double cabins, two bathrooms and three crew.
Commissioned in 1979 the timber was cut and dried in the traditional methods before construction started in 1980 and launching in 1981. She was ahead of her time with the inclusion of 2 bathrooms for her 4 double cabins.
Owned by Southern Cross (second owners) for the last 10 years she has had major modernisation without loosing the original Bodrum gulet feel. A great sailer with her schooner rig the crew average at least a a few hours real sailing a day if the client wishes.

Latest upgrade in 2015/2016 was the complete renewal of the deak deck and the cladding of the superstructure in Epoxy laminate and Epoxy paint. Hatches were added to each cabin for better ventilation.

Service and presentation rival many more expensive gulets.

A collection of some memorable feedback we have had over the years

I don't like yachts, sailing or unpredictability. I don't like hot weather. I don't like foreign countries. I don't like {deleted by webmaster}. My wife hates the sea.  Despite my prejudices, and due to circumstances beyond my control, we had an exquisite time on board our gulet. Not sure if I can handle the flight to come back again, but it's sort of a priority.

Absolutely fantastic trip made by incredible crew on a beautiful boat.
S. Moore, Western Australia on Queen of Karia June 2014

Many, many thanks.  It has been so easy working with you.
M. Taylor, Owner of 'Food Matters', Auckland on Sebahat Sultan 2012

We are eternally grateful for the care and energy provided by Dave & Dina prior to embarking on our wonderful journey when one member of our party needed urgent medical care.  It would never have been possible with the red tape of Europe or the USA.
H. Garfinkle, USA, Southern Cross Timer 2010

As a restaurateur, my three weeks on board gulet Why Not were exceptional.
Denmark,  Why Not, August 2014

As my nephew Stevie put it, it was “absurdly fantastic!”

We just wanted to take the time and thank you for a wonderful experience on board the Southern Cross Timer.  All of us enjoyed ourselves immensely. The crew was amazing and very courteous. Good choice of delicious food and drinks, beautiful scenery and the sea. Overall it was simply brilliant.  Thanks a ton

Still the best holiday I've ever had. We tried it in Croatia but not the same.We tried it in Tahiti just not the same. We'll be back eventually.

What a joy to see a 21st century chef who takes the time to properly use a mortar and pestle.
F. Stitt,, Birmingham, USA on SX Timer 2012

J. Flatow, USA, on Kirke 2011

A: Not just yes, but hell yes.
G. Wehle, Alabama USA, on Esma Sultan 2012

Yes, there were actually two things missing.  A hammock and a hooka pipe.
Dreyfus, USA, 2011 Southern Cross Timer
