DAVID GIES–Captain (American)
Captain David is happy to join the Themis crew as the newcaptain. David has recently been onboard the successful charter yacht Sea Bear for many years, which has now soldand become private. David’s experience ascaptain spans over fifteen years and his time on board yachts has logged himenough miles to circumnavigate the world eight times. He has cruised extensivelyon board charter yachts in New England, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean.David is originally from Spokane WA and now resides full time in Ft. Lauderdalewith his wife and soon to be son. Hiscasual personality and easy going attitude sets the tone for a happy and teamoriented crew on board Themis. Davidbelieves in the importance of details, safety and fun to provide for theultimate charter experience.
ANTONIO PALAZUELOS, FIRST MATE (BRITISH/MEXICAN)
Born in Acapulco, Mexico, home of the world famous LaQuebrada cliff divers, Antonio moved to the Pangbourne, UK, at the age of 13 toattend nautical college. During his 4 years at the college Antonio was a crewmember on the race yachts, something that he pursued professionally aftergraduating. Since making the move across to yachting, he has spent the last 10years working on large yachts such as Sunrays, Aviva, Eminence, Elandess andSeven Seas, before joining the crew onboard M/Y Themis. Antonio likes to spendhis free time perfecting his aerial tricks at the wakeboarding cable park whenhe’s not indulging in his love of gardening whilst listening to jazz. HisLabrador retriever, Panchita, lives at the family home in Mexico.
ADAM GLICK – Chef(American)
With more than 20,000 nautical miles logged, Trans-Pacificcrossing, 10 years, experience and Food Network television under his belt, hebrings confidence to the table. He grew up living in widely diverse places andwith his parents internationally based careers, it sparked his passion foreclectic foods. He credits his mother for influencing his palate when he wasyoung. His creative use of in-season and local produce will transform theeveryday meal to an upscale and sensory-enriched experience. His approach tohealthy, enjoyable cuisine combines all the best of traditional dishes with acontemporary and ethnic flair. Chef Adam is self-assured, flexible and equallycomfortable around people as he is around food. JAYNE THOMAS – Chief Stewardess (British)
Jayne was raised in Liverpool, UK and has spent most of herlife around water; from competitive swim galas, a member of the rowing team,enjoying kayaking and sailing on the weekends. Jayne graduated with a degree inNuclear Astrophysics; during which time, she was fortunate enough to spendalmost a year working with the nuclear physics team at the University of NotreDame. Jayne then decided to pursue herlove of the water and spent a summer working as a lifeguard and sailinginstructor. At the end of the summer she was drawn into the yachting industrywhen offered her first yacht job in France over 9 years ago. Jayne has worked onyachts ranging from 18-100m. When not on board, Jayne enjoys cooking, winetasting, scuba diving, hiking and the great outdoors. She also enjoys allmanner of things from cook books to quantum physics. Jayne enjoys finding outthe little things in life that may excite guests on board and is always readyto surprise you when you least expect it. She looks forward to serving you onboard, M/Y Themis.
MICHEL SHERWOOD FISHER (RED), -Chief Engineer(AMERICAN)
Born in Columbus, Indiana, Red moved down to Florida as ayoung boy and was raised in Fort Lauderdale. Growing up on the water it wasonly natural that Red would have a love of all things boating, starting hisprofessional career at the age of 16 as a mate on S/Y Puritan, a 103ft schoonerbuilt in 1932. After his ocean-racing career peaked when he captained in theAmericas Cup, Red moved to power yachts, running charter boats throughout theMediterranean and Caribbean both as captain and chief engineer. Following inhis fathers’ footsteps, Red is an avid Aviator holding his private pilotlicense. In his free time, Red can be found big game fishing or enjoying somequiet time on the golf course. Red is content above and below the waves, as afree diving spear fisherman or just shelling in the shallows.
MORGAN MAJOR – Second Stewardess (American)
Hailing from Pennsylvania, Morgan is the oldest of sixsiblings. Living out in the country meant plenty of time outdoors participatingin activities such as camping, fishing, horseback riding and quad-biking.Morgan studied political science in college and was inspired by her Aunt who isthe leader of Republican Caucus for the Pennsylvania State Representatives. However, it was during one of her visits toItaly almost three years ago that she met yacht crew enjoying time off. Thisenticed her with interesting aspects of life as a crew member and lured her toembark upon her new adventure in the yachting industry. Morgan loves animals and she surroundsherself with many pets at their family home. When she isn’t embracing allaspects of the Italian culture: people, food, wine and architecture; she can befound racing snowmobiles in the snowy countryside of Canada, New York and herbeloved Pennsylvania.
JAMES JABLONSKI –Bosun (American)
James grew up in Old Saybrook and Essex, Connecticut.Growing up on the coast, boating ran in the family and from a young age Jameswas out on the water sailing or fishing every chance he got. After completinghis studies in Philosophy and Sociology at the University of St. Bonaventure,in New York State, James helped on a yacht delivery from Connecticut to FortLauderdale. He felt at home on board and discovered the yachting industry andembarked on his new journey. As an avid traveler, James spent a year travellingNew Zealand and Fiji before teaching English in Thailand for over four years.At home James can be found in his personal haven, his woodwork shop and enjoys projectsfrom tables and chairs to framing houses. Cycling, soccer, hiking and fishing arehis other passions or anything that involves being in the outdoors.
CHATCHANAN JABLONSKI (KAEW) - 3RD Stewardess(Thai)
Kaew was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. At a youngage she started running track and sprinting, and then trained and competed whileshe was at university studying Communications and Public Relations. Kaew has alove for fashion and accessories. After opening her own shop in Siam, Bangkok,Kaew was able to create and sell her own designs, making her jewelry andaccessories from sterling silver and Austrian crystals. It was her love ofnature and being near the water which brought her to live on the ocean here inFort Lauderdale. Before moving to Florida, Kaew bred Yorkshire terriers. Shehas three of her own, and three generations of the same family: Mimi, Mini andBambi. Her other interests include swimming, cycling and showing the crew real Thai food.
