VICTORIAN ROSE Crew Profile
Captain Peter Limmer hails from New Zealand but soon got the travel bug and left for England where he started a mobile yacht painting company. This expanded to contracts painting mega yachts in France, Italy and Germany. He lived in Italy for 4 years and in Germany for 4 years. Peter arrived in the States in 1998. In 2002 he met the owner of Victorian Rose and started working on her refit in Canada.
Peter has done a lot of sailboat racing and crewed in one of the Fastnet races. He also owned a 32’ sport fishing yacht for several years. His hobbies are travel and ballroom dancing.
Chef/Stewardess Gisela Huffman
Gisela grew up in Bavaria, Germany and studied languages at the University of Heidelberg.
With a desire for experiencing new places, she traveled to the US and South America and was introduced to the sailing life in the Caribbean. She then got the opportunity to cross the Atlantic, first on an eighty foot schooner and again on a seventy two foot ketch. Having always loved to cook, she started to prepare meals for the crew and guests.
While in Newport, Rhode Island during the America's Cup races, she met Vienna Chef Volker Fricks and gained valuable experience doing an apprenticeship at his Newport restaurant "Fricks".
Following this she worked as Chef on private and charter yachts in Europe, the Caribbean, the US East Coast and Mexico. After years of experience in creating innovative menus with an international flair, Gisela can customize and prepare delicious meals for any occasion or dietary preference.

VICTORIAN ROSE Testimonials
Sept. 2012
Dear Carol,
Having an absolutely perfect time!
Peter and Gisela have been the best crew you could ask for, and Gisela’s
customized menus and added little details have made every meal even
more of a pleasure.
Victorian Rose is the exactly right vessel for the two of us—just gorgeous and a
head-turner in all the harbors we visited—including here on Nantucket where’s
there’s a lot of competition!
Carol: This has been EXACTLY what Carly and I were hoping for—no agenda, drift (almost literally!)
around the islands; quiet, professional crew; wonderful meals presented with such care and detail;
and just the right vessel :spacious without being ostentatious, luxurious but intimate.
Thanks so much for your “right-on-the-mark” choice of Victorian Rose!
Very Sincerely
Richard & Carly
They loved it…
Trina, It could not have been better (except for the weather)
We cannot say enough praises for Peter and Jeannie. And of course the boat is magnificent.
Well done to the crew and thank you to the owner and you for getting that sat phone! I will not hesitate to book her again!
Kind regards,
Trina Howes
