RITA Chef / Hostess

- ? Mediterranean and Asian cuisine

- ? Fish, meat and vegetarian

- ? Fresh tapas and snacks

- ? Creative pastries and tasty deserts

- ? Fluent in English & Russian, Lithuanian and good practice of French

Born in Vilnius (Lithuania) after graduating in 2003 from Reading University with a Degree in Estate Management and Valuation, Rita went to work for a company in Ireland and met her husband David. Rita’s passion for good food is inspired by the best chefs in town. Since 2003, Rita also discovered the French cuisine after she married her husband, David, whose parents were running a restaurant in Lyons for many years. Rita's creativity is in every one of her meals through putting her own touch in all of her creations.

Taste and presentation are the two central characteristics of Rita's cuisine. She thinks of her dishes as a form of ephemeris art.

Rita's cuisine is based on classic meals from the Mediterranean region, rich but always light, creative and never flat. Italian pasta types, French poultry or Spanish tapas, the way you like it. She also cares for vegetarians and kosher food types, if requested. Her desserts are sublime and tasty with the all-time classics from France and Italy. Finally, she adores cheeses so you will never be short of local tasty cheeses to finish.

Rita's kitchen philosophy: Creative presentation is as important as the tasty side of my cuisine. I want to please all the senses and that includes the eye as much as the palate and the nose...

SAMPLE DISHES: Mediterranean and Asian Cuisine

Royale Dorado in Fresh Marinated Coconut Rice and Potatoes

Side dish: Red Onions with Coriander Sauce

Caramelised Lamb Chops with Sweet Eschallots and Courgette Sticks

VIP ONE Testimonials

March 2013, St Maarten / St Barths / Anguilla

VIP One was large enough for all four couples, making it very comfortable for lounging, reading, sleeping, playing games, eating, etc. Cleanliness was paramount on this yacht. Captain David Gueguen and his assistant Elena were very enjoyable and congenial. We talked for hours and enjoyed developing friendships with them. We laughed hard during our evening games; we enjoyed many different aspects of the islands with many fun activities. Captain and Elena were creative in the meals, which tasted fantastic. The parrotfish was beautiful, as were so many of the meals; the hors d’oeuvres were beautiful and creative. We would charter this yacht again. Matthew G.

Xmas 2012 BVI's

We can't rave enough to everyone that asks about our trip. David & Rita.... what an amazing couple, they totally made the trip! Fun, young, entertaining, intelligent well just fantastic!

David (and Rita) was so very thoughtful to ALL of us, and Rita was totally up for the challenge of cooking for a family with some demanding requests (vegetarian, Type1 diabetic, and VERY hungry young men), she did an amazing job. The sailboat was kept in immaculate condition and David truly takes care of it like his own, and it's in tip-top condition.

We love to sail, as does David, so it was a perfect match. Everyday they took us to a new "adventure" and he ALWAYS made sure we had fun... we hated to leave them :(

Every evening we had something different going on, one evening very though-provoking exchange of ideas and one evening we just played games... or out on one of the islands. We can't say enough good things about David and Rita, truly gems!!! We recommend them HIGHLY to anyone: families with kids, adults only and everything in-between! We wanted to take them home with us!

Please let them know that we miss them terribly and send them big kisses & hugs,

Best Regards,

Ann-Therese & Eli  + 4 kids (ages: 23, 21, 19, 13)

Dr Olivier D. and family of five – 7 days South of France – 06/07/2012 – 13/07/2012

Dear David,

Congratulations for our charter in the south of France to celebrate my 60th birthday with my familly. Your warm hospitality  along with your great availability of you both have been a great pleasure. I also very much so appreciated your professionalism as a captain (excellent seamanship qualities) and also yourorganisation skills. Your attention to details and to our every wishes have been very appreciable. I can also command you for the excellency in keeping your boat in a top state of order and cleanness. Thank you again for having so nicely participated to the success of our trip together with my family members. I truly hope to see you again this winter in the caribbean like the BVI of St Vincent with you as skipper on board.

Dr Olivier D.

Cher David,

Cordialement

Dr Olivier D.

Nicolas and Corine – Corsica/Sardinia from 18/08/2012 to 25/08/2012

Dear David and Rita,

We are now back home and we can't hold ourselves to send you again our big thanks for the wonderful week in your company on VIP ONE; All our family is already missing you. It was a first for the five of us to spend one week sailing on the water.

First: your lagoon 500 is superb, spacious and very stable. All our cabins we en-suite with our private shower, shed under the exterior cockpit and sunbath on the front deck. It was always a place to enjoy at any time of the day.

Second: we've enjoyed all the fun activities available on board of VIP ONE such as snorkeling, the banana trawl, wake board, water ski, kayaks and of course not forgetting the paddle boards that allowed us to explore countless remote beaches where we had set foot for a walk in the wild mountains of corsica. We also had great moment fishing around the boat and the use of your great tender was great to set foot to the villages for some shopping.

From Ajaccio to Bonifaccio through visiting Sardinia you always managed somehow to find the magnificent spots, on the front seats, next to the beautiful landscapes where we had plenty of chances to swim around safely. We enjoyed safe and calm nights thanks to your attention to find safe moorings so we could enjoy a good rest for the night. We enjoyed great moments when we had been invited to participate with the maneuvers together with you where you have shared your obvious passion for sailing with us.

Finally we will never thank Rita enough for preparing real high class meals on board every day. Sometime simple and fresh, sometime very sophisticated menus we enjoyed so much the relaxed and cosy atmosphere you both manage to create with your guests. Our family will never forget these special moments when we have been looked after so well (like VIPs) with lots of attention and discretion as well.

Once again we sincerely thank you for these unforgettable memories you both managed to allow us to bring back with us. And we hope to see you again on the other side in the west indies for more adventures together.

Bien cordialement

Nicolas & Co

St Barths Regatta 2012

Dear David,

With my crew spread over 3 charter boats and 2 villas, the St Barts Regatta could have been a total logistical nightmare.  However, your calm, professional attitude helped me through a very demanding week.  At all times you proved to be reliable, conscientious yet still with a sense of humour - a hard balancing act to achieve during charter weeks, I am sure.  No job was too demanding, no times too unsocial.  You quickly became a crucial part of my team, yet still maintained the professional integrity required to look after your own vessel. VIP One was always clean, tidy, well maintained with good crew morale.

All my crew enjoyed the week and I would like to say a huge THANK YOU!  I will definitely bear you in mind again, should I need a delivery skipper or another charter.

Do keep in touch and all the very best to you.

Danielle
