Crew Profile

Marc Wellnitz, Captain, Canadian-German

Captain Marc Wellnitz was born in Canada to German parents and grew up in the Caribbean. His diverse background allowed him the opportunity to learn German and Spanish.  He began his career in yachting in 1990 and traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico, and the west coasts of Canada and the U.S. His passion for water activities is far reaching, including  sailing, scuba diving, skim boarding, water skiing, wake boarding, and paddle boarding. He also has experience in free diving.  In 1999, Marc received his captain’s license, and he now currently holds his 500 GRT license. He has acquired many other credentials over the years while running private and charter yachts.  Marc is married and has two young sons who live in Florida.

Michael “Mikey” Johnson, First mate – American

Mikey grew up on the waters of Massachusetts. After studying business at Salve Regina in Newport, RI and a short stint in the office world he began his yachting career. Working in the industry for more than 9 years he has worked on yachts such as M/Y EVVIVA, M/Y LUCKY SEVEN, M/Y BOARDWALK and M/Y KALEEN. He has traveled the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Bahamas, as well as the northeast and Pacific Northwest coasts of the United States. When he is not at sea his favorite activities include paddle boarding, scuba diving, traveling, and photography. His favorite place to visit is Nantucket and hopes to one day own a home there.

Tiem Tran, Chief Stewardess, American

Tiem was born in Vietnam and relocated to California at the age of 3. Growing up by the ocean, early on she developed a passion for the seas. Studying business finance at San Diego State University, she began working part time at a yacht brokerage firm. After Graduation, Tiem decided to give the yachting industry a try. Working on yachts for more than five years, she has traveled to Mexico, Central America, the Bahamas, New England, and the Mediterranean. Tiem loves creating unforgettable guest experiences. On her spare time she enjoys surfing, sailing and yoga.

Larry Morgan, Engineer, American

Larry was born in Connecticut. At an early age he took to sailing on the Connecticut River. He worked his way up the racing fleet from Opti to lazers to 420’s. In college he studied marine affairs and business.  After college in Road Island he worked the marinas in the area. Larry relocated to south Florida where he found his true passion, Yachting! Starting off as mate and progressed to engineer. Now having worked in the industry for many years he has traveled the east and west coast of United States, the Caribbean and Bahamas.  He has also been to the Mediterranean. He enjoys working with his hands and when not working on the systems on the boat he likes building with wood. 

James Garvey,Chef, American

Always in the kitchen while his mother was cooking, James expressed a natural passion for the culinary arts as a young boy. After graduating from Bucknell University with a degree in Finance, James went on to work for Lazard Frères & Co. Working for  a preeminent international investment bank allowed him to live in Germany and London for 5 years. While there, James traveled extensively, gaining a greater appreciation for the culinary offerings of Europe. In 2006, James left Lazard to attend the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts in Vancouver, B.C. After an intensive year of classic French training, James returned to his native New York where he worked for Geoffrey Zakarian and Doug Psaltis at the then Michelin Starred ‘Country’. James continued to work at some of the most well respected venues around New York, culminating in being part of the opening team of CLARKSON, an ambitiously designed Farm to Table American Bistro in the West Village of Manhattan. Then day he found himself on a yacht and has not turned back for it. He could not be happier to bring his passion for fresh, modern Mediterranean food, presented in an elegant way to the guests.

Laura Cole, Stewardess, American

Laura Cole was born and raised in a small town in North West New Jersey. After graduating from college with a degree in both theater and public relations she moved to her favorite vacation spot, the US Virgin Islands.While working there she discovered the yachting industry. She loved the idea of being able to blend her passions for travel, the ocean and meeting new people.It did not take long for the opportunity to come up and off she was on her first yacht.She was hooked and has not looked back since then.Laura other hobbies and interests include painting, performing, cuisine, and fitness.

Brian Konczewshi, Deckhand ,American

Brian grew up living and playing on the water around the Long island sound and New England area, At an early age he learned to sail. After collage he traveled and worked around the USA and Central America experiencing life. He would return summers to work as a lifeguard, teach surfing and see the family. In Australia he worked in the hospitality industry. He also worked for a pearl company harvesting oysters. While down under he was introduced to the yachting world. Upon his return to the USA he gave it a try and after a few boats decided he enjoyed the lifestyle. Brian is an avid surfer and spear fisher. But he enjoys all water sports.

VIP Stateroom (1): Aft lower deck to Port: Centerline king bed with two night stands, dresser, and closet. The en-suite features a head and bidet, twin sinks and a shower. The entertainment center has a 32” LCD TV, Blu-Ray, DVD/CD player, iPod dock, and surround sound. 

VIP Stateroom (2): Aft lower deck to Starboard: Centerline king bed with two night stands, dresser, and closet. The en-suite features a head and bidet, twin sinks and a shower. The entertainment center has a 32” LCD TV, Blu-Ray, DVD/CD player, iPod dock, and surround sound.

Twin Guest Stateroom (1): Forward lower deck to Port: Two single beds with night stand, dresser, and closet. The ensuite features a head, sink and a shower. The entertainment center has a 26” LCD TV, Blu-Ray, DVD/CD player, iPod dock, and surround sound.

Twin Guest Stateroom (2): Forward lower deck to Starboard: two single beds with night stand, dresser, closet. The ensuite features a head, sink and a shower. The entertainment center has a 26” LCD TV, Blu-Ray, DVD/CD player, iPod dock, and surround sound.

Aft Deck: A 42” outdoor LCD TV is located above the bar with 3 bar stools and is visible to the large al fresco dining table for up to 10 guests. Bench seating and two cocktail tables are situated aft of the dining area. The aft deck has wind doors to protect guests from windy conditions while dining.

Swim Platform: the swim platform is accessible via two stairwells (port and starboard) from the aft deck.

Bow: Walk-around decks lead to the bow which is a great place for sunning on the two chaise lounges. 

Main Salon: Earthy tones in leather, fine fabrics, sapele and mahogany compliment this space with a welcoming lounge area to port and a game table to starboard. A formal dining area is forward, and a day head is situated on the starboard side just forward of the main atrium. 

Sky Lounge: A great entertainment area, the skylounge features a fireplace with relaxing sofa and a 55” HD TV, Blu-Ray, DVD/CD player, iPod dock, and surround sound. A small desk to port is a great place for a game of chess or to catch up on your emails. And another game table is situated on the port side. There is also a small wet bar aft. The day head is accessible on the starboard side just forward of the sky lounge.

Boat Deck: Al fresco lounge area, shaded, with a BBQ and wet bar, and a 42” LCD outdoor TV with iPod dock.

Sun Deck: The Jacuzzi is situated forward and is surrounded with an oversized semi-circular sun pad. The al fresco dining table seats up to 10 guests and is fully shaded. There is a 42” outdoor LCD TV with iPod dock, 3 chaise lounges aft, and a full wet bar.
