WORLD'S END Crew Profile

It is World’s End goal to offer our clients a luxurious and relaxing stay in an enchanting surrounding!
None of this would be possible without the fantastic work and drive of our crew. Therefore we would like to present to you our crew:
Captain : Jules Vedrenne
Jules grew up in a small village, Gréoux les Bains (Provence)in France.
He discovered his passion for the ocean while taking the ferry from Ajaccio to Corsica. On a holiday with his parents the next summer, this passion for the sea and boats grew, so Jules made a decision to follow a career in the marine industry.
After college Jules followed a professional maritime course at the Lycée Maritime Paul Bousquet in Sète where he completed a 2 years BEP commercial maritime training.
During this time he also followed an internship with different maritime companies (SNCM, Cheyresy et Fastout, Trans cote d'azur).
From the age of 16, Jules started working, during school holidays, on the motor yacht "Sunny Dream". He graduated and obtained his BEP commercial maritime licence in 2009.
At the age of 17, he received his captain 200 licence and served a second season on the "Sunny Dream".
In May 2010, he became second captain on the M/Y Fatamorgana (a Mangusta 108ft), for a period of 6 months.
When the contract ended, the captain of the M/Y Ammoun of London immediately offered a contract for Jules to be second captain for the next 8 months.
In June 2011, he boarded on the S/Y World's End for the Mediterranean and Caribbean seasons, along with the Transatlantic crossings. Jules is bi-lingual - French and English.
Chef: René Kappetein

René Kappetein has a very impressive Curriculum Vitae being one of the chefs of the 7 star Burj al Arab Hotel in Dubai, bronze medal junior chef of the Middle East on site competition in the fish and seafood category.
Rene worked for several years on board the cruise ship Sea Dream 2 and also several internships in some highly recommended hotels in Belgium (La Réserve, Knokke), The Netherlands (Van der Valk, Eindhoven, Holland) and Italy (Savoy, Florence, Italy).
He settles for nothing less than perfection and makes every meal into a piece of art. Another unique experience you shouldn’t miss.
When World's End is doing the Transatlantic crossings between the Med and the Caribbean Rene likes to extend his culinary skills by working at some of the top hotels in the world. Rene has been selected to work for a couple of weeks in November 2012 at Noma (Kopenhagen) which is nominated to be the best restaurant in the World.
Rene will also work in May 2013 at Roger Van Damme who is the world champion in making 'desserts'.
