Master of yachts up to 3,000 gross tons
From an early age Shane has been interested in all aspects of being on the water, and living on Bribie Island in the tropical waters of Queensland, Australia, was the perfect introduction to a life at sea. Since joining the Australian Navy at the age of 18, Shane has spent his entire adult life working in the marine industry. During his career, he has circumnavigated the globe, battled hurricanes off Japan on a destroyer, dodged Red Sea pirates on a 40-foot sloop and squeezed in a swim with wild dolphins in Tahiti. Jason Spence

Age: 27
Nationality: Australian

He began his yachting career by chance in Sydney, Australia, as a deckhand when a super yacht passing through took him on full time. Since then he has never looked back. He has sailed a large part of Australia and New Zealand, the South Pacific Islands, Asia, USA, Caribbean Islands and extensively in the Mediterranean, along the way working his way through the ranks to First Officer. Throughout his career he has worked on sail as well as motor, including private and busy charter yachts. This variety of yachts has given him a well rounded and over all professional view and understanding of the industry standards and what it takes to ensure the yacht itself as well as the charter service it provides is up to the highest standard the industry has to offer. Jason loves being in and around the water. He has experience in a wide variety of water sports and activities but his passion is for surfing and fishing.

He started out delivering smaller pleasure yachts out of South Africa which brought him to the USA and to Zenji. Chef Derek Allomes
New Zealand
The foundations of my cookery are etched in French and European cuisine with a distinctly New Zealand feel to the style and composition. Through the course of my career I have fostered a strong respect for the natural beauty in flavors and textures of the ingredients and products that are seasonally, locally available. I emphasize this in my preparation, believing that quality ingredients speak for themselves when prepared without unnecessary complicated flavors.
As New Zealand is a melting pot of South East Asian cultures I have knowledge of the fundamentals of these cuisines too, and where appropriate use them to enhance the dining variety.
I believe that every meal is as important as the last, be it a healthy balanced staff meal or the finest of gastronomic feasts and all those in between.
Previous yachts included: Mia Elise, Gran Finale and Bacarella.
