Philip Henderson, Linda Wright and Chase Hann

Captain Phillip Henderson, chef Linda Wright and mate Chase Hann look forward to welcoming you aboard Zig Zag.  Phillip and Linda are married and have worked as a Captain/Chef team for the past four years.  Both come to professional yachting from previous corporate lives.  Chase joins them to form a complementary trio dedicated to making your holiday dreams come true.

Phillip is an experienced sailing yacht captain with an impressive list of accomplishments.  He grew up in Wellington New Zealand and has sailed, built and run boats most of his life. As a youngster, he sailed in centreboard classes and represented province and country at various international regattas, Phillip  also served four years in the cadet branch of the New Zealand Navy.  Throughout his adult life he has recreationally built and raced keel-boats and can boast few interests or hobbies that don’t include boats or the sea.

He holds a New Zealand MSA commercial license and has professionally captained sailing yachts for the past 10 years in many regions of the world, including Eastern and Western Mediterranean, Caribbean, South Pacific, Patagonia and many more.
Phill brings invaluable recommendations and advice for cruising in these regions and his Kiwi sense of humour and many stories from these far-flung destinations are sure to entertain and delight.

Linda’s previous life within the IT consulting industry allows her to bring a focused professionalism to her role on Zig Zag.  She also brings a long sailing history, which allows her to support whatever sailing or watersport activities required.  However, her main focus is the interior, where she is passionate about ensuring that your stay onboard is an unforgettable experience.

Linda augments her classical French Cordon Bleu training with a love of Italian food and an intense interest in various wines and cuisines of the world.  Born in Western Canada, Linda has lived and worked in many places, and draws from her experiences in San Francisco, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, New Zealand, the Caribberan and Mediterranean, to add a unique melange of flavours to anything she prepares.  She can also recommend appropriate wine pairings to complete your fine dining experiences.

Chase has recently joined the world of yachting, from a commercial marine background as a commercial fisherman and water-taxi driver.  Chase also holds an NZ MSA commercial license.  Chase is a congeneal host and delights in supporting all your recreational activities including diving and watersports.  His passion for fishing is eclipsed only by his passion and knowledge of rugby.
